You will be missed Jess.
November 7, 2016
Tim Welch here. Jess and I were friends in high school and college. I remember him cutting power to the high school so I could impress my girlfriend who was visiting. I remember all the trips to McDonalds where he would request exactly seven ketchup packets. I remember the army jacket big enough to hold a big mac meal (including drink) to sneak into a movie. I remember driving to Stillwater to get a coke and Tulsa to get a comic book. I remember playing bridge and late night walks.
I remember us driving down to Padre Island. We didn't have enough money so we only spent every other night in a hotel. The other nights we slept in the car, a few times on the beach. We went down to Brownsville and into Mexico where we ran into someone from high school who took us to a bar where we had cold Tecate. We spent day on the beach. I spent the day reading, drinking, and sleeping. Jess walked the beach from one end to the other and sun burned his feet...bad.
Jess was a good friend and one of a kind. He was unique and giving. I haven't seen Jess in years but miss him all the same.

There are too many things I will miss about Jeff...Hugging him after not seeing him for a long time...his faithfulness to his family & friends...his coat pocket with & bottle & straw where he could reach it easily...the little boy that made up his own rules to games & made my kids go along with 'his way'...his stories that he told as a child...his smile & so many things I'll think of later. I loved him dearly & still do. He was the oldest of the five cousins...Jeff Angie Kelly Brian & Jason. We all miss you...Hope you are happy on the other side. See you sometime later. Love, Aunt Anne.

This is one of my (his mom, Janelle's) favorite birthday pix of Jeff/Jess. His family and friends will recognize his favorite attire--camo with a pocket for a "Big Gulp" with a straw (his sippy cup). He smiled alot and then his teeth were so nice and white they reflected at the flash.

Janelle - This is about the worst thing that can happen to a family. I think about you and your family every day and wish the best for you. You have been in my thoughts and prayers for over 2 months.
