Max Acton Obituary

Max A. Acton
Crescent - Max A. Acton was 89 years old when he departed this life on 5/24/21. Raised in the Mulhall, OK area by his parents, CM and Fern Acton and graduated in 1949 from Mulhall High School and went to OSU for a year before leaving for the Air Force and service time in Korea.
After his discharge, he went to Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. 1956 was a big year for Max. He graduated with a BS in Economics, married Bernice C Hufnagel, and moved to Hartford, Connecticut where he embarked on a career in insurance.
Over time he worked for many different companies; Hartford, Travelers, Continental, and Trinity Universal. He traveled the state of Oklahoma. During the 1970's he started a general agency a small insurance company and didn't retire until 1992.
Max was very successful in the business world but his passion was farming and ranching. He saw himself as a small town guy he embraced the life of a rancher. He had a cow calf operation planting lots of wheat for winter pasture. Watching the calves grow always gave him joy.
Max was energetic and a thriving force that will be missed by all. Especially his children; Eric and Sandra Acton, Marka Acton and Gayle Acton along with 6 grandchildren: Adrien and Bobby Fisher, Erin and Ryan Smith, Allison and Emilee Acton, and Elizabeth Acton Smith.
