ROBERT JORDAN Obituary

May 21, 1940 - October 19, 2013 MIDWEST CITY Robert Maurice Jordan, Midwest City, OK, died October 19, 2013 at Hospice Quality Care at the age of 73. Bob was born and raised in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the son of Maurice Leo and Iris Cecilia (Mills) Jordan. After graduating from the University of Iowa, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the USAF in 1963. He married Diane Maria Venaglia in Missouri Valley, Iowa in 1964. During 10 years as an active duty personnel officer, he spent 18 months in Turkey, and earned an MBA from the University of Rochester, NY. In 1973 he joined the USAF Reserve, retiring as a Lt. Col in 1988. As a civilian, he worked in various budget analysis and supervisory positions for the USAF in Oklahoma and the Defense Finance and Accounting Service in Colorado. After retirement in 1997, he and Diane moved to Estes Park, CO, and returned to Midwest City in 2006. Bob loved to hike and do volunteer road repair work in Rocky Mt. National Park. He enjoyed road trips in his Mazda Miata. He was an avid college football fan and followed politics with intelligence and skepticism. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Diane of Midwest City, OK, sons, Michael Jordan of Midwest City, David (Melinda) Jordan of Edmond, grandchildren, Emily and Evan, and sister, Joann Jensen of Norman, OK. The memorial service for Robert will be held at 2:00pm Friday, October 25, 2013, in the Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations "in Memory of Lt. Col. Robert M. Jordan" to The Wounded Warrior Project or The Oklahoma Food Bank.
