Christel and I, and our daughter, Jennifer, are very saddened by the loss of Alan on December 8. I first met Alan when we served together at the 36th TFW, Bitburg AFB, Germany, starting in the summer of 1969 until his tour ended in the fall of 1970. He was an outstanding intelligence officer, and I as chief of target intelligence had the privilege of nominating him (he was my deputy) for recognition as USAFE Intelligence officer of the year, which he won. He and Mary attended our wedding in 1970, and Al filled in for the lack of an official photographer to preserve memories of the event for us. We stayed in touch over the intervening half-century plus, including family visits, weddings of our children and Mary´s funeral. I regret that we were limited (by Al´s illness, Covid 19, the long drive) to a few (long) phone conversations (most recently, last July) since Jennifer´s wedding, which he attended in 2010.
Al was not just an outstanding military officer - he was a truly genuine human being - smart, caring, with a great sense of humor and the highest personal integrity.
Our deepest sympathies to Tim, Chris, Carrie, Bridget and your families.

I met Alan in 2003. We were both hired as Air Force Civilians that year. We became fast friends. He taught me how to play a few board games in his spare time, shared great stories relating to his many interests and adventures. He was always there to listen and advise when I had a problem. I miss him.

Have not met Major Moore, however we know his Grandson, Jonathan, who mentioned him frequently. May he rest in peace, and his family find condolences that he is with our Lord and Savior. Maggie, Commander, VFW post 10727

Chris, whenever I would come over (in my much younger years) your mom and dad were always so kind. I truly appreciated that. I am truly sorry for your loss. Prayers that God will put his arms around you and your family for comfort and peace.

I never met Alan Moore, but I know his son, Tim. And he must have been a great father to have raised someone like Tim. My respects and sympathy to Tim and all the Moore family.

I served with Alan in his work as a board member for the ESU #3, and on the Nebraska Association of School Boards. I enjoyed his stories, his laugh, his dedication to public education and his love of service. I am grateful to have served with him as a fellow board of education member and for his service to our nation. God bless. -Linda Richards, Past President Ralston Board and NASB Board
