Anthony Collins Obituary
February 6, 1962 - January 16, 2022
Anthony Ray "Tony" Collins, age 59, of Council Bluffs, passed away on January 16, 2022, at UNMC Buffet Cancer Hospital from complications with stage 4 prostate cancer. Anthony was born in Omaha on February 6, 1962, to parents DC Collins and Annie Mae Collins. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1980. Anthony enjoyed fishing and hunting. Anthony worked construction all of his life, mostly as a heavy equipment operator.
Preceded by daughter, Amber Mellor, in 2005; father, DC Collins, in 2016; mother, Annie Mae Collins, in 2018. Anthony is survived by former wife and longtime partner, Barbara Collins of Council Bluffs; son, Michael A. Collins of Council Bluffs, Anthony R. Collins II of Lincoln, NE, Jordan Mellor (Angie), of Bennington, NE; brothers, DC Collins Jr. of Council Bluffs, Michael O. Collins of Omaha; sisters, LaVern Jacobs of Mississippi, Lillie "Nell" McGruder, of Omaha, MaryAnn Collins, Rosemarie Williams, of Council Bluffs, Sandra (Tyrone) Kellem, of Porter, TX, Charisse Collins; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; many friends and relatives.
VISITATION with the family will be held Thursday 5-7pm. FUNERAL SERVICE Friday 11am, all at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Interment in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, with a luncheon following at the Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce Street.

My cousin. So many memories growing up with you. Your dad and my mom were sister and brother. Super close they were all their lives. Our parents made sure we were close as children and that connection was never broken. No matter whenever I saw you, that family love was always present. Gonna miss you and will love you eternally. Collins Family: I am so sorry to hear of Tony's passing. I went to high school with him and would run into him in random places like the grocery store.
