Hanna Wisniewski Obituary

Wisniewski, Hanna
Elizabeth (Richter)
Age 82

Clinton, MO. Died May 31, 2013 at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Hanna was born on November 16, 1930 in Bielsko-Biala, Poland to Adolf and Margaret (Ziebarth) Richter. She attended a private Jewish school as a child and was put in hiding to survive Nazi Germany. After WW II, Hanna worked as a pharmacy assistant. She graduated from a Polish high school with honors. She married Waldemar Jan Wisniewski in May, 1952. In 1956, they moved to Israel for 6 years, where she worked as an LPN. They immigrated to the United States in 1962. They settled in Buffalo, NY, where Hanna assisted her husband with his dental business. They also lived in Las Vegas, NV, Santa Barbara, CA, Denver, CO, and Eldon, MO. She worked in nursing in Eldon. After the death of "Valdi" in 1988, Hanna moved to Omaha, NE, where she lived until moving to Clinton, MO in 2006. She lived at Golden Living Center-Westwood. Hanna had lost her mobility and vision, but her mind was sharp until the end. She was a strong woman, in mind and spirit. Hanna spoke 4 languages: German, Polish, Hebrew, and English. Hanna loved to cook traditional Polish foods- pierogi's, croquette, borscht; to garden, and do crafts. She enjoyed music, especially the Lawrence Welk, Gaither's, and American Idol shows, in recent years. Hanna loved people. She loved getting to know others and sharing the stories of her amazing life. Her family was very special to her. She always looked forward to visits and hearing from them about what they were doing. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Alexander "Fred" Richter; and her husband. She is survived by her 5 children, Renata (Edward) Nickell of Plattsmouth, NE, Gregory (Rosalyn) of Clinton, MO, Mark (Melissa) of Treynor, IA, Michael of Bellevue, NE, and Robert (Melissa) of Papillion, NE; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law and niece in Germany; and brother-in-law and nieces in Poland.
The body has been cremated with No Services planned. Memorials may be sent in care of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home and designated at a later date. VANSANT-MILLS FUNERAL HOME
