April 15, 1946 - September 24, 2023
MEMORIAL SERVICES for Janice Ann Olson, 77, of Omaha, formerly of Norfolk, will be 11 a.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023, at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Norfolk. Ron Lofgren, PMA, will officiate. INURNMENT will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Ave., in Norfolk.
Janice passed, surrounded by family, on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Methodist Hospital, in Omaha.
Janice was born on April 15, 1946, in Osmond, NE, the daughter of Gilbert and Vera (Albrecht) Wragge. She was raised on the family farm and attended rural school prior to graduating from Niobrara High School in 1964.
On July 2, 1964, Janice married Dennis Ray Olson, in Yankton, SD. The couple made their home in Lincoln, NE. While living there, Janice was employed at the Nebraska State Capital. They later lived in Humphrey and moved to Norfolk in 1974.
Dennis died in 1999. Janice continued to live in Norfolk until 2009, when she moved to Omaha to be closer to family.
She enjoyed playing cards and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Sue (Creekmore) and her husband Kevin Holtorf, of Marquette, NE; and her son, Scott (Jennifer) Olson, of Omaha; four grandchildren, Brooke (Cody) Seaton, Beau Olson, Jayden Olson and Parker Olson; three great-grandchildren, Sophia, Olivia and Chloe Seaton. Also surviving Janice are three sisters, Jacquie (Dave) Hull, of Lincoln, Joan Clearmont, of Lincoln, and Peg (Mike) Henery, of Norfolk; brother-in-law, Ara Hague; and sister-in-law, Kate Wragge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis Olson; son-in-law, Kenneth Creekmore; two infant brothers; and three adult brothers, Larry Wragge, Leon (Phyllis) Wragge and Tom Wragge; one sister, Waunetta Hague.
