Deborah Reed Obituary

Munnsville-Deborah Lynn Reed, 60, of Middle Road, Munnsville passed away March 18, 2019. She was born to the late James and Dawn Graves, April 10, 1958 in Oneida, NY. Deb graduated from VVS High School in 1976. She was employed as a waitress at various restaurants in the area in her younger years. She then worked at the former Oneida Savings Bank for many years. She retired to take on the role as full time grandma. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest love. She enjoyed baking and cooking for everyone which was always wonderful as she was an amazing cook. Homemade bread was her specialty."It's a rare person who can take care of hearts while also taking care of business." Ever industrious, kind, & positive, Mom was an un-ending, well-spring of love & joy. The glue that held our family together. Every life she touched was brighter for it. She had a keen eye for finding 4 leaf clovers. Mom loved to be outdoors in nature and she loved birds. She was voraciously loyal until the end. Small in stature, huge in heart. We are all going to miss you very much Mom. Debbie is survived by her large loving family and many friends she met along her life's journey.Services will be held at the Christ Church at 417 Park Street, Sherrill, NY on Friday, March 22nd. Calling hours will be from 10 am to 12 pm, with a funeral at St. Helena's and burial at Valley View Cemetery immediately following. There will be a gathering for family at the Sherrill Legion, as well as a luncheon at the church, after the services to celebrate her beautiful soul.

My thoughts are with those she loved. She welcomed my son and I into her home while visiting from Texas and treated us like family. Her cooking, home and personality were to perfection. She was a wonderful person.

Debbie was my right hand and confidant at OSB for 12 years. She was one of the most kind and considerate people I ever met. I never saw her lose her temper nor ever say a cross or negative word about anyone. When she left the Bank, I felt as though I had lost a truly great friend and caring co-worker. But, she left to be Grandma for her grandchildren she adored, an admirable cause. She had a large part in the success of our company, as she was involved heavily in the construction projects, hiring, and expansion our Bank enjoyed as a valued member of the OSB team.

No words can express the grief her family is feeling but please take comfort knowing Debbie was a rare gem of an individual. We all share your loss of this great and special lady. God Bless you, Debbie.....Tom

Debbie was such a lovely person whom I was fortunate to work beside at at OSB for many years. I am in such disbelief and sad to not be able to catch up on Mom/Grandma life again with her. My heart goes out to her family! Love, Terry Maphia
