Frank J. Sharon, Jr., 65, of Charles St., Durhamville, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.He was born on March 13, 1956, in Rome, the son of Frank J. and Marion Vanderworken Sharon. Frank attended Oneida schools.On June 30, 1979, Frank was united in marriage to Susan Burns in St. Anthony of Padua Church in Utica.Frank was employed as a farm mechanic for over forty years. He retired from Spring Water Farms in the Town of Lincoln. He previously worked for Curtin Brothers Farms and Williams Family Farms.Frank was always staying busy; from tinkering on trucks to learning how to weld. He became quite a talented welder and was able to make many different metal fabrications. He also enjoyed cooking and was known for his chicken bbqs. He even started a part-time job of chicken bbqs for local fire departments, graduations parties, retirement parties, and birthday parties. He also had a not so small garden he was proud of.Surviving besides his loving wife of forty-two years, Sue; are his sons, Frank (Callie) Sharon, III, of Morrisville, and Daniel (Tiffany) Sharon, of Stafford, VA; three grandchildren Frank IV, Carly, and Jacob, and one more due in a month; two brothers, David Sharon, and Barney Sharon, both of Camden; two sisters, Katherine White, of Oneida, and Beatrice Phelps, of Camden; his mother-in-law, Josephine Burns, of Utica; a sister-in-law, Jean LaPlante, of Oriskany; a brother-in-law, Bob Burns, of Minneapolis, MN; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by five brothers, Don, John, Henry, Gordon, and Michael.A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 6 PM at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., where the Rev. Christopher Ballard will officiate. Family and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday prior to the service from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home, 342 Main St., Oneida.
