Nancy S. Andrews, 78, West Walnut Street, Oneida, died Tuesday morning, May 9, 2023, in Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton, shortly after her admission as a medical patient.Born in Oneida, on May 4, 1945, she was the daughter of Harry and Bridget 'Betty' Ryan Simchik. A lifelong resident of the Oneida-Durhamville area, Nancy was a graduate of the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School.Prior to her retirement, Nancy was the City Chamberlain for the City of Oneida. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church (later, St. Joseph's) a member of the Oneida Elks Lodge # 767 B.P.O.E., and enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren.Surviving are her daughter, Amy (Gary) DeVaney of Nesconset; her son, Matthew R. (Christie) Andrews of Vernon; her five grandchildren, Brady and Brooke Andrews and Owen, Brendan and Liam DeVaney; her sisters, Margaret H., Simchik and Patricia (Thomas) LaClair, all of Port Orange, Florida; her brothers, Peter (Marie) Simchik of Daytona Beach, Florida and Thomas (Kim) Simchik of Durhamville; her sister-in-law, Linda Simchik of Oneida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Gregory Simchik on June 5, 2019.Funeral services will be held Friday, at the convenience of the family, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida.
