Patricia Curro Obituary

SHERRILL-Patricia J. Curro, 86, West Hamilton Avenue, formerly of Oneida, died Sunday morning, December 4, 2022, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loving and caring family.Born in New Monmouth, New Jersey, on August 24, 1936, she was the daughter of Frank and Veronica Supenski Gallagher. A longtime resident of this area, Pat was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. She married Samuel A. Curro, in Oneida, on December 1, 1956.Prior to her retirement, Pat was employed at the former Medicine Shoppe of Oneida and previously had been employed with Vernon Downs, the Oneida City School District and provided childcare. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Our Lady 1250 and the Altar-Rosary Society, served on the City of Oneida Youth Bureau Commission and to her-family and friends were most important.Surviving besides her husband, Sam, are her four daughters, Veronica Curro of Encinitas, California, Cathy (A. Philip) Germano of Albany, Toni Vanderlan and Patti Curro, both of Sherrill; her son, Sam (Tammy) Curro of Gotha, Florida; her nine grandchildren, Liz Redding-Albury, Charley Bielby, Caitlin Heimbaugh, McKenzie Heimbaugh, Sara, Rose, Philo Germano, Mason Curro and Fisher Curro; five great-grandchildren, Madison, Braelynn, Aiden, Dustin, Jr. and Lynnsey; her sister, Bobbi Dygert of New Monmouth, New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Nate Vanderlan, sister, Francis Ruane and brother, James Gallagher.Funeral services were held 11 AM, Saturday, from St. Joseph's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by the Reverend Nathan Brooks. Interment was made in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
