Thomas Fox Obituary

CANASTOTA . . . Thomas R. 'TR' Fox, Jr., 69, of 402 E. North Canal Street, Canastota, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Oneida Healthcare, following a lengthy illness. He was born on July 27, 1954, in Syracuse, the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Veronica (Grevelding) Fox. TR spent his early years in Chittenango, attending the Chittenango schools. He has lived in Canastota most of his life. He worked for Raymond Leasing in Syracuse for twenty years, retiring in 2018, and had previously worked at Oneida Limited in Sherrill for many years. TR was a member of the Chittenango Volunteer Fire Department for many years, and the Canastota Volunteer Fire Department and Fire Police for almost forty years. He enjoyed watching sports and television shows, and loved his dogs and spending time with his family. TR married Debra J. Stevens on December 31, 1985, in Chittenango. Surviving are: two sons, Thomas Fox, III, and David O'Donnell, both of Canastota; two daughters, Tiffany Fox of Canastota, and Tina O'Donnell of Lakeport; one brother and two sisters-in-law, David and Deborah Fox of Chittenango, and Carol Fox of Manlius; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Theresa and Michael Nesbitt, and Sharon Kilts, all of The Villages, FL; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two aunts; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. TR was predeceased by one brother, Timothy Fox; one sister, Constance Fox; and a brother-in-law, Peter Kilts. At TR's request, private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Pastor Donna Chapman of the Whitelaw Presbyterian Church will officiate. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of his Life which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the Canastota American Legion Post #140, 325 S. Peterboro Street, Canastota, NY 13032. Those attending are invited to bring a dish to pass. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.In his memory, contributions may be made to the Canastota Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 81, Canastota, NY 13032. RIP Foxy! So sorry to hear of his passing. He used to love watching my husband, Squeek, and Vito play cribbage at Vito's house. There is a vacant voice at the bowling alley. He was so sweet. He will be truly missed.
