When I reflect on the 20 plus years I’ve known Woody, the first thing that came to my mind when I heard the news of his passing was surprise. It at first took me back a bit. But then God reminded me of how long He had been waiting for Woody to turn his heart to Christ in submission. I then reflected on God’s patience, His mercy that was expressed in a long suffering wait for Woody to finally find the truth of Christ within his heart. God knew where He had to take Woody on his life journey before Woody would give his heart over to Christ.
Praise God that Woody finally yielded his life to God’s ever lasting love for His created children. We all make the mistake of seeing death as the end. But to God, it is the freeing of our sin natured flesh to enter into eternity to bask in the love and light of the Creator of the universe. To God, death is the beginning. The short time we spend here on this earth pales in comparison to eternity in the heavens with God. God knows what we cannot see. God knows what we cannot comprehend. God knows the brevity of one’s decision to reject the free gift of salvation. God knows that spending eternity separated from your creator is more terrible than any of use could imagine.
Praise God for the mercies shown to Woody, who I can now call my brother in Christ. Praise God for His ability to be long suffering, because He knows the consequences that we do not know. Praise God that I will see Woody again in heaven. We will be able to enjoy eternity together, discovering all of God’s creation that exists in the spirit realm that we do not know today.
Praise God for Woody’s decision to bend his knee to the Creator. My heart is overjoyed to know that I will see him again.

I would like to send my condolences
to Woody's family. The last time I saw Woody was at the Corn Festival Parade in 2003. I was riding in one of the cars & he came up to me to congratulate me on walking the Pacific Crest Trail.
May he rest in peace.

Woody,

Forgive me for not having shared this at the wake, but my heart was heavy and full of sorrow. I wouldn't have been able to read it without tears.
I went to live with you when I was just 14 years old. I always felt like you and Tere were more than a brother and sister-in-law. The respect and admiration I have for you both has lasted my entire life. You were a very unique couple to me because of your commitment to one another. I saw a beautiful sense of love between the both of you, unlike any I have ever seen. You left behind a wife with memories to last her a lifetime and I'm happy to have been part of your family.

Geneva,Melanie and Jill will never forget the times you played "dinosaurs" with them with your little finger. My son Anthony and my granddaughters will only know that from the stories they told.
Woody, to me, you were such a beautiful brother inside and out. I'll miss looking into your beautiful eyes and seeing your beautiful black hair. I love you. Your sister, Little Biggie.

My daughter Stefany, my husband Adrian and I will miss my brother Woody very much. We looked forward to his visits. Our Mom had his little bed ready for him. He had planned on being here for the Corn Festival weekend. He had asked mom for her and Tere to make some tamales. Woody and Mom had an awesome relationship and their code word to each other was "Corn Flake" and "Aflack!" What a laugh that brought to each of them and us. We loved to sit around the table and listen to his stories about his life and travels and of course, Mom always made him something special to eat. Woody and Tere could always convince Mom to go out and have a hamburger with them, Mom really enjoyed those times with them. We will miss him with all our hearts. Tere, Lupe, Dave and Mike. We love you all.

Woody, my brother. This is just a transition. My brother has simply moved home. You have left the tent, a temporary dwelling place, that you used when you were here on earth. You have gone to live into your permanent home that will last forever. And because of your faith in Christ you live on in a new existence where you are strong, healthy, and free of pain. I thank God that death is not the end, but a gateway into a new and glorius life without pain or heartache. Our prayers continue for Tere, Lupe, David, Michael and their families. We love you! Dad,

It's been 2 weeks today and I still can't believe it. I don't think it has hit me yet. Mom has been very strong, but I know she really misses you. I hope you liked the flowers we left for you.

I Love You Pop.

Woody will be missed by many. My memories of him are that every time I would be with the family or over for a vist, he always made sure I had some food or drink. He saw to it everyone was taken care of.

Prayers and blessing to the family.
