PAUL MINK Obituary
Graveside services for Paul Edward Mink will be 10:30 AM Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Fairhaven Memorial Park, Santa Ana, CA.
Mr. Mink, 95, of Orange, passed away peacefully March 20, 2016 at Wildwood Canyon Villa, Yucaipa, CA. He was born August 5, 1920 to Frank and Pency (Moody) Mink in Green Bay Township, Lee County, Iowa; near the Skunk River. He was raised in Kirkwood, Illinois.
Paul served in the 54th Bomber Service Group US Army Air Corps (pilot) for seven years during WWII. He flew the China, India, Burma Theater. Once back home in Illinois, he met and married the love of his life, Betty Tate on January 31, 1947 in Springfield. Along with their young son and daughter, the family relocated to Orange, CA in June of 1955 where they lived the following 60 years. Paul and Bettty owned and operated Paul's Trailer Sales & Rental, and Park Mobile Home Brokers until they retired in 1971. Paul lived to the fullest many happy, healthy years of retirement/golf (four hole-in-one trophies). Together, Paul and Betty delivered Meals on Wheels in Orange for 22 years. He was a regular attendee at the Orange Senior Center. He loved music; played the organ and sang in the church choir for several years. He enjoyed lifetime memberships in both the Springfield and Orange Elks Lodge and the Masonic Lodge.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Betty of Yucaipa, CA; son, Gary Mink of Orange; daughter, Barbara (Paul) Adams of Hayden, ID; grandchildren, Wayne (Lisa) Mink, Kevin (Becky) Mink, Kristy (Jeff) Coursey; and six great-grandchildren, Caden Mink, Gavin Mink, Drew Mink, Ryleigh Mink, Mary Coursey and Walker Coursey, all of Yucaipa, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Pency Mink; brothers, Earl (Arbie) Mink, Kenneth (Lucille) Mink; sister, Bette (Jack) Watts; and nephew, Robert George.
Among those who will especially miss their Uncle Paul are, Karen Bryd of Quitman, MS and Barbara George of Irvine, CA.
