David Freeman Obituary

Freeman, David Lt. Col. David Gray Freeman (1926 - 2014) 87, of Deland, FL passed away May 31, 2014. He was born November 8, 1926 at Camp Lewis, WA. He was an Army Lt. Col., a West Point graduate, that served during WWII, a Korean War veteran, and during the Vietnam era. His final assignment was leading ROTC at Princeton University. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Valor and the Purple Heart. His family retired to Central Florida in 1970 where he worked for Lustra Lighting. Dave is survived by his wife, Nina, married 60 years; brother Robert and his wife Retha from Lake Lure, NC; Children: Tammy Freeman from Augusta, GA; Pam & Bill Coffman from St. Cloud, FL; Becky & Dan Hoag from Knoxville, TN; and Lt. Col. David W. & Teresa Freeman from Augusta, GA; as well as ten grandchildren plus a soon to be born great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project- www.woudedwarriorproject.org. A memorial service to be held at the Cloisters, 400 E. Howry Avenue, Deland, FL on Monday, June 2, 2014, 11AM.
