Dear Susan and Fmaily,

Judith has so graciously forwarded this memory book to me and I want to add my thoughts here, too. This is such a difficult time for you and in light of our national tragedy, it adds to the heaviness of your heearts. Please know that I think of you and send you the same warm hugs and smiles that you share so willingly with others. XOXO Naomi

I never had the good fortune to meet Velma but, knowing her daughter Susan, I am certain she was a very special and gracious lady. My warmest condolances to the whole family.

I would like to share some words that are fitting for Velda Kattner, who's Christmas notes I will miss very much.

AS the proverb says it so well:

She opens her hand to the poor, and reaches out her hands to the needy...Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom and her teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed. Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all...Well done good and faithful servant..enter into the kingdom prepared for you. Amen.

Carol and Susan: though you see your mother no more, she is with you always. A mother like Velda Kattner is more than a memory. She is a Living Presence. Love, Georgia

Mom - you are so missed. I know you are with Linda and Dad and Jen but I wish you were still here with Carol and me. You really were the best.
