Angela Wright Obituary
The daughter of Idus, Sr. and Thelma (Thomas) Hughes, she was born on Friday, February 1, 1963 in Palatka. She was educated in the Putnam County School District and a 1981 graduate of Palatka High School and a 1983 graduate of St. Johns River State College. Angela was united in marriage to Pastor Lorenzo Tracy Wright, Sr. on August 1, 1980. She was a member of Rhema Healing and Deliverance Missionaries where she served as a first lady, missionary, and community outreach liaison. Angela was employed as a bank teller for 10 years in Palatka, FL, Corpus Christi, TX, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (naval base). She was also a retail clerk and in later years, she was a floral designer, homecare assistant, homemaker, and minister. She enjoyed cooking, community outreach, reading, and mentoring.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in eternal rest by her brothers, Idus Hughes, Jr. and Clayton Hughes; father-in-law, Joe L. Wright, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Lorenzo T. Wright, Sr.; mother, Thelma Thomas Hughes; 2 sons, Lorenzo T. (Celeste) Wright, Jr., Christopher (Gally) Wright; 2 daughters, Jennifer Wright, Jalisa Wright; 20 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Deborah (Lewis) Jarmon, Carol Tripp, Lori Hughes-Troutman; mother-in-law, Dorothy Davis; step mother-in-law, Cynthia Wright; goddaughter, De'Ashia McCray; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and close friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, December 9 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Angela's Life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 10, at Mt. Tabor 1st Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka. Assoc. Pastor Florie Davis, Rhema Healing & Deliverance Missionaries, Palatka, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill East Cemetery, Palatka. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Karl N. Flagg Serenity Memorial Chapel, 2400 Madison Street, Palatka, Florida.
