Phyllis Gleason Obituary

Phyllis Irene Fredericks Adinolfi Gleason
God called to Heaven one of Earth's kindest souls on March 30, 2021. Phyllis was born April 28, 1930 on her mother's birthday in New Haven, CT. She grew up in Danbury, CT with her six brothers, three sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis graduated Danbury High School in 1948 and later attended the Stone School of Business. She married her first husband, Joseph J. Adinolfi in 1955. Together they had a son and daughter and lived in Orange, CT while running a successful, family-style Italian restaurant, The Rose Garden. Phyllis also worked for over 10 years at St. Raphael's/Yale Hospital in New Haven, CT. She moved with her daughter to Florida in 1978. She met Jack E. Gleason in 1987 and they later married, spending 20 happy years with him until his passing.
Phyllis, devoted to helping others, became a volunteer at Gardens Hospital in the ICU waiting room. She accumulated over 1,000 volunteer hours and was recognized as Volunteer of the Year.
Of all the things she loved in the world, she loved her family the most. She spent countless hours with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. She was undoubtedly the best mother and grandmother, Her love was equally reciprocated by her devoted and loving family.
Phyllis was pre-deceased by her parents, David Louis Fredericks and Mary Mooney Fredericks, six brothers, three sisters, her niece Jeanne Nowlin, her husband Jack E. Gleason, her former husband Joseph J. Adinolfi and her son David J. Adinolfi.
She leaves behind to carry on her memory, her daughter Susan (Adinolfi) Ricci, son-in-law Dr. Richard Ricci, their children Matthew, Michael, and Christiana of North Palm Beach, granddaughter Miranda Adinolfi of Connecticut and countless friends and family.
The family would like to extend a warm thank you to her caregivers Winnie Walker, Syliana Beaubrun and Eracka Carey for their kindness and devotion. Because of you, she was able to remain in her home by the intracoastal and watch the boats and birds go by.
She is at peace with God. Look up at the sky and know the stars will be a little brighter.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 10, 2021, at St. Clare Catholic Church, North Palm Beach, with Rev. Fr. William D. O'Shea presiding.
