Theodore JOHNSON Obituary
Theodore "Ted" Johnson - Securities Executive and Entrepreneur - Mr. Theodore "Ted" Johnson passed away December 24, 2013 as a result of complications from brain Surgery. Ted was born January 25, 1934 and lived during his youth in North Denver, Colorado where he graduated from North Denver High School in June 1952. During his high school years, Ted Excelled at football and began his college career on a football scholarship at the University of Denver. Ted graduated from there in June 1956, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. In 1958 he served his country as a Naval Aviation Cadet. During the years of 1960 to 1978 Ted served as Executive Vice President, Director and Member of the Executive Committee of Hornblower & Weeks-Hemphill Noyes, where he was responsible for the company's Eastern US Business. In 1978 Ted Joined Paine Webber, where for 25 years he served as an Executive Vice President for the Eastern United States and Latin Americas Distribution; overseeing several thousand employees. While at Paine Webber Ted attended The Harvard Business School Executive program; of which he was very proud. Ted served as Corporate Director and Chairman of the Board of Cross Match Technologies, Inc, from September 1997 through August 2006, where he served as Chief Executive Officer. At the time of his death he was Chairman and CEO of Sonavation, Inc. Sonavation, located in Palm Beach Gardens, designs and manufactures biometric fingerprint sensors, providing identification for consumer, government and bio-medical markets. Ted was very proud of the Sonavation "family" that he assembled, representing a diverse multi-cultural and highly technical workforce. Ted is preceded in death by his beloved wife of thirty years, Sandy, who died in 2002. While Ted had no living survivors he is survived by his extended families at Crossmatch and Sonavation.
