Sharon Sypherd Obituary

Our loving wife, mother, and grandmother Sharon Sypherd passed away March 12, 2012 while visiting relatives. She was born November 27, 1935, in Ogden, Utah. Her mother died when she was only nine years old. She met her future husband Web in Ogden when he was stationed there during the Korean War, and they were married May 29, 1954.

Their first child, Dirk, was born in Santa Monica, CA. They moved to nearby Westchester and purchased their first home where their second child, Drew, was born. In 1965 they moved to Paradise when she was eight months pregnant with their third child, Shawn. She loved her children and would have had many more if she had been able.

She loved to do crafts, sew, make pottery, crochet, play cards, cook, tell jokes, and eat chocolate. She lived for her family and always had hugs and kisses for everyone. She always had a quick wit and a fun sense of humor.

On April 14, 1988, she lost her son, Shawn, in an airplane crash. He was 22 years old.

She is survived by her husband Web, sons Dirk Sypherd and wife Cathy and Drew Sypherd and wife Cindy, and eight grandchildren, Ryan, Aly, Josh, Shane, Ciera, Luke, Tanner, Christopher and sister Renee Burch.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the LDS Church on Buschmann Road in Paradise at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. in the Relief Society Room. Dedication of the grave at Paradise Cemetery will follow the service.
