Betty Mursener Obituary

MURSENER-Betty J. Mursener, 83, of Monticello, Indiana, formerly of Princeville and Bradenton, Florida, died at 2:30 p.m. May 5, 2004, at the Monticello Healthcare Center. Born July 3, 1920, in St. Marys, OH, the daughter of Raymond E. and Mildred C. Baxter Brodbeck, she married James H. Mursener November 16, 1943, in Abilene, TX. He preceded her in deat h November 20, 1983. Also preceding her in death was a son, Dan Emil and two brothers, Pvt. Robert Brodbeck and David Brodbeck. Surviving is one daughter, Jane (and Robert) Wetzel of Pasadena, CA; one son Robert (and Julie) Mursener of Monticello, IN, five grandchildren: Jonathan James-Edward Wetzel of San Francisco, CA, Neil Mursener of Tempe, AZ, Chace Montelle Wetzel of Pasadena, CA, Amanda Mursener of Muncie, IN, and David Mursener of Monticello, IN, and one sister, Nancy Hobler of Delaware, OH.She was a 1938 graduate of South High School, Lima, OH, and a 1941 graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Lima, OH. She served as a U.S. Army Nurse during WWII for 3.5 years. She later worked as a nurse for Dr. Emil Loeffler in Princeville, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, the Disabled American Veterans and a past member of the Princeville United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2004, in the Princeville Cemetery so famil y and friends can pay respects . Family members will greet Betty's friends at the cemetery 30 minutes prior to the service. Rev. Rex Hendrix will officiate. Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville, is in charge of arrangements.
