Eleanor Foster Obituary

FOSTER, Eleanor Louise

Eleanor Louise Foster, passed away July 20, 2013. Eleanor was born in Minnesota in 1921 to Isabel and Wieland Oswald. After college at DePauw University in Indiana where she pledged. Kappa Alpha Theta, Eleanor moved with her family to Glendale, CA. There she met the love of her life, Gordon Harrison Foster at a USO dance and they were married October 22, 1943. They moved to Hastings Ranch in 1955 with their two children, Richard and Carol. Eleanor was very active in her children's lives being Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and leader of the Blue Birds and Girl Scouts. Eleanor was an avid bridge player and received her Life Masters in bridge. She also volunteered for over 30 years to The Boy's Republic. She is survived by her son, Richard Foster, daughter Carol (Jim) Shepp, grandchildren Matthew Foster, Lisa ( Casey) Brown and Jennifer Shepp. Also, her wonderful friends and neighbors Evelyn and Richie Costa. Her last years she lived at St Jude's Home for the Elderly and was lovingly taken care of by Kelli.
A Family Celebration and Memories of Eleanor will take place August 3rd.
