Alan was the founder of the Saturday Morning Toastmasters Club 797 and was one of the founding members of the Riverside East Rotary Club. Alan provided many hours of pro-bono work to non-profit organizations, assisting them in incorporating with tax deductible status. Rose Mayes, Founder and Chairperson of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Monument Visionaries, applauded Dr. Pauw for the legal and technical assistance during the seven years it took to realize the Vision of erecting a statue of Dr. King in downtown Riverside. My sincere condolences to all of the Pauw family. I worked for Mr. Pauw in his Riverside law office and, in the 30 years that I have worked in the legal field, have never known anyone like him. Mr. Pauw was the kindest, most gentle and sincere person I have ever encounted. I am truly sorry to hear of his passing. He is truly one man that I will never forget.

What wonderful memories I have of life on Argyle Way. My children have heard stories of swimming at the Pauw's, twenty-all-scatter as well as baseball and football games in the front yard. Your parents always provided a safe haven for the many children in the neighborhood. I know that God's love will comfort you during this difficult time.

Much love,
