William Wesley "Bill" Hill

1936 - 2016

Bill was born on February 3, 1936, in Port Angeles to Howard and Florence (Sherwin) Hill.

He passed away in Olympia, Washington, on May 9, 2016.

Bill was raised in Port Angeles and attended Fairview Grade School, graduating from Port Angeles Senior High School in 1954.

He then served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps (Alaska Communication System) for three years, with a two-year tour of duty in Kodiak, Alaska.

After his military service, Bill attended Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington, and graduated from Knapps College in Tacoma with a degree in accounting and business administration in 1961.

He then went to work for the U.S. Oil & Refining Company in Tacoma, Washington, as an accountant.

In 1969, he went to work for Business Tax Services as an accountant/income tax practitioner and became office manager of the Olympia, Washington, branch office.

In 1980, he went to work for the state and worked for several state agencies in Olympia as an accountant/auditor/investigator before retiring in 1995.

Bill was an avid sports fan and closely followed the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks.

He also enjoyed golfing with friends and tinkering in his wood shop, and was a frequent visitor at the local casinos' blackjack tables.

He is survived by daughters Kimberly Kyler and Michelle Hill, and granddaughters Christine Kelley and Talyn Branom, all of Olympia.

At his request, there will be no service.
