Alexander Carson Obituary

Alexander Hume Carson

1928-2011

Alexander "Sandy" Carson was born in Albany, New York on May 4, 1928, the youngest of four children born to John and Dorothy Carson. He grew up in New Milford, Connecticut, attended Boston College then entered St. John's Seminary in Boston and was ordained to the Roman Catholic Priesthood in 1955. After serving in North Louisiana for 14 years, he resigned his position and went to Liberty Bible College in Pensacola, Florida to prepare for a new ministry. After graduating, he taught in the Bible College, became an associate pastor of Liberty Church, then traveled extensively in the Americas, Eastern Europe, Russia, Africa and the Far East. Much of Sandy's story has been spread throughout the world thru his autobiographical book "What Price the Truth?". During his life and ministry, Sandy was known for uncompromising integrity and for loving those who needed love the most.

Sandy experienced the ultimate victory of the cross, moving from this life into eternal life with Jesus his Savior on Saturday, April 23, 2011 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

He is survived by his sister, Joan; brother, Kit; wife, Elsie; five children and their spouses; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren. He is dearly loved and his absence leaves a great emptiness in all our lives but we are committed to continuing his great legacy of love and service for our Lord.

There will be a viewing at FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 100 Beverly Pkwy, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2011.

A celebration of Sandy's life will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Charity Chapel 5820 Montgomery Ave. Pensacola.

Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Garden, Pearl, Mississippi.

Condolences may be placed online @fcfhs.com.

Bro. Sandy was such a special person to my husband and myself. He had such a sweet spirit. Understood the scriptures very well. He came to visit my husband during his last days and that was a blessing to both of us. I hope and pray that the Lord will comfort his family and sweet wife Elsie, during this very sad time. But we will all get to see him again soon. God Bless you Elsie.
Love you;
Jeannene

Sandy, you touched my life in ways that you will never know. Actually, you probably do know because you were always a conduit of God's love to others and that is EXACTLY what I felt from you! Will miss you terribly but will always carry your humor, humility and faithful spirit in my heart!

Those of us who were part of the Liberty family during the mid70s and beyond knew and loved Brother Sandy and appreciated his wit and his wisdom. May God comfort his family during a dark but joyful time.

Through my son,Kevin Zeitlin,and his lovely wife,Dorothy Elizabeth(Beth)Carson Zeitlin,I met Aleander(Sandy)Carson and became good friends and was able to share time with him and benefit from his knowledge of the Bible in which he answered many questions I had. He was very scholarly and explained my difficult questions with ease and clarity for me. Sandy was always there to help people. He was dearly loved by all his family. I will greatly miss him but he will be in my memory always.

In the words of my nephew, the world is a darker place without Sandy in it. I dont believe he knew the impact he had on peoples lives. I am PROUD to say he was once my father-in-law and I loved him deeply. My love to the family both current and once was. Peace and grace to them all.
