Thanks for everything skip.

I was able to sail with Captain Benny in the 90s in the 2000s. One of the few that were proficient on the single screw boats. He always instilled confidence. While some Skipper's might get annoyed that you didn't successfully throw a line on a Bollard as you're approaching the pier. Benny never made me feel inferior and because of that I tried harder. I recall bringing in a coal barge to Hampton University we were pushing two barges tied together they were empty of coal. the wind was blowing us off the dock simultaneously the current would not allow us to make they comfortable methodical approach. so Captain Benny knowing where we needed to park labarge's came in at a fairly High rate of speed a sharp angle and try to get that front left corner tied up and have a line so we could lean on it and twist the boat to the pier. He said Paul you gotta make that line now. I said you got it skip. The barges really had crappy lines I got the best one I threw the line made the cleat tied it off the line stretched and then it exploded parting the line. But I've been working with captive Benny for a while. He kept me motivated so I was proficient at making the bowling knott. Standing back seeing what was going on I immediately ran over to another piece of line made a bowline and was able to throw the line over the very cleat that we needed to be on before we lost control of things. So being able to hang on that line we back the barges into position and secure them to the pier . Captain Benny was very happy with me. It feels good to react in such a manner very quickly and make your skipper look like a million bucks. I don't consider death as an option as we are children of God it is a transition and of course as the children of God we will someday become like our parent how profound. My condolences to his family and I believe his daughter he loves very much. I miss you skipper. This life is comporial it won't be long I'll see you again.
