Grace Sawyer Obituary
VA Beach - Grace Lee Waller Sawyer, age 77, went to her heavenly Father on January 20, 2014. Grace was born in Norfolk County, VA to Nellie and Howard Merdith Waller. She was married 56 years to her husband, Richard Willis Sawyer. She was predeceased by her parents, and brother, Charles E. Waller. She was a devoted wife and mother. Grace was ever faithful to the Lord. She grew up in Lake Drummond Baptist Church and was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church since 1963. She served in the preschool and children's Sunday School Division for 12 years. She also served on several church committees. Grace retired from Lynn Shores Manor Nursing Home after 15 years of service as LPN.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Willis Sawyer; daughter, Angela Y. Vick and husband Craig; granddaughter, Georgia C. Deal; grandson, Jeffrey P. Deal, Jr.; brother, Edward R. O'Farrell and wife Carolyn; sister, Edna O'Farrell DeLaney and husband the late Paul DeLaney; sister, Elinor Beames Horton and husband Johnny; and many nieces nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 24, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 Witchduck. Burial will be private at Rosewood Memorial Park. You may offer condolences to the family at www.kellumfuneralhome.com. Memorial donations may be made to The Gideons International at www.gideons.org.

Dear Richard and Angela,
I was so sorry to hear of Graces death.
My deepest sympathy and prayers are with you and all your family. Grace and I worked together for 15 years at Lynnshores Manor. She was one of the most caring and professional nurse, and she touched so many lives with that caring. She will be greatly missed, but we all are lucky to have known her.

Dearest Angela, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Knowing that you will one day be reunited with your dear mother and knowing her suffering is no longer will give you peace at times, but I know only too well it is knowing that she is no longer with you here that is heavy on your heart at this moment. Remember that in these times, it is imperative that we allow our Lord and Savior to carry us through. He will, I know first hand.
