Lillian L. Vick

Portsmouth - Lillian L. Vick, 96, a lifetime resident of Portsmouth, died November 2, 2016 after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Eldridge R. Vick; her daughter, Sandra V. Hoggard; her parents; three sisters; and three brothers.

First and foremost, Lillian was a devoted Mother and Grandmother. Her children were her greatest joy throughout her life. She will be remembered for her warm smile that was given freely and sincerely.

Lillian was a volunteer at Maryview Hospital. She was a great gardener and enjoyed crafts and coin collecting. She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Portsmouth.

Survivors include her children, Linda V. Hanes (Gary) of Norfolk, Annette Wilkins (Steve) of Richmond and K. Jack Vick (Carol) of Chesapeake; six grandchildren; and a host of loving great and great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 6, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by the Rev. Tom Potter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the care and compassion given to their mother while she resided at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Va. Beach and Jenn Scholl from Medi Home Hospice.
