I am sorry to hear about the passing of Otis Lee Jones, Sr. I knew him when he was a kid growing up in the Pughsville subdivision of Suffolk, Virginia. We used to attend his church, Church of God and Saints of Christ (Pughsville), from time to time, when we were kids. When our church (Union Baptist Missionary Church, Shoulders Hill) burned down, in the 1960s, his church opened its doors to us, so we could continue to have our church meetings and worship services.
A few years ago, I discovered that he was a member of "Van Jones and King David's Harp", a gospel recording group, out of Suffolk, Virginia, and that some of their gospel music videos were available on YouTube. Needless to say, I viewed them all. All of the gpspel recordings and videos, on YouTube, were so uplifting and inspirational.
He's gone on to Glory, but the gospel music and gospel videos of him and "Van Jones and King David's Harp" will live on, to inspire men, women, boys, and girls, today and tomorrow. May God continue to bless and strengthen his entire family, during this time of loss. (Archie W. Earl, Sr.)
