Patricia Farrell Obituary
Born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, Patti attended Lake Taylor High School and went on to join the United States Air Force upon graduation. During her time serving our country she was blessed with two wonderful sons, Patric James (Shelby Clipper) and Jordan Richard. She dedicated over 20 years of her life working for Huntington Ingalls Industries and showed no signs of wavering even through her brief battle with cancer.
She is preceded in death by her parents James and Ann Farrell; brother Robert and his wife Linda Farrell; brother Jimmy Farrell and a nephew, Bryce Farrell. She is survived by her sister, Mary Encarnacao and husband Mike, brother Dennis Farrell and wife Ruth and sister Kathleen Farrell. Also surviving her is her partner of 12 years, John Smith. She was proud of all her nieces and nephews and was looking forward to our bi-annual camping trip this summer.
Over the years she became known as the neighborhood mom, always willing to lend a hand or a ride. She continued that tradition when Carter and Shelby became family and was blessed in 2020 when her grandson Wyatt was born.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

I worked with Patty for her 20 years at Huntington Ingalls. She loved her family and was especially proud of her 2 sons. She was thrilled when her grandson was born. I kept in touch with her even after I retired and moved to South Dakota. She was a special friend, always willing to help someone.
