Thomas Humphrey Williams

1929 - 2022

LTC (ret)Thomas Humphrey Williams, 92, was born Sept. 25, 1929 and died peacefully at home in Fernandina Beach, FL of natural causes June 1, 2022. Tom was born in Rocky River, Ohio to Ivor and Beatrice Williams. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jane Caldwell Williams and four children, Cathy Ingebrigtsen (Nils) Fernandina Beach, FL. Meg Moran (Tim), Easton, MD. Thomas H Williams Jr. of Cape May NJ, and Nan Park (Kevin) Virginia Beach, VA. As well as 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Richert, Sean and Molly Moran, Samantha, Nikki and Drew Park and 5 great grandchildren. Tom graduated from Rocky River H.S. and United State Military Academy, West Point in 1951. He served in the Air Force Reserves for 27 years and flew B 29's in Africa during the Korean War. He was the commander of the 49th APS squadron at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. He worked as a Quality Control Engineer at General Motors for 30 years. He was a longtime volunteer at the Military Warbird Aviation Museum in Pungo. Tom was renouned for his joke telling as well as reciting poems. He enjoyed beach living, golfing and spending time with his family. There will be a memorial service at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Virginia Beach,VA on June 27, 2022 at 11 AM.
