Thomas Worrell Obituary
Portsmouth - Thomas Elisha Worrell, Jr., 73, a lifelong resident of Portsmouth and a retired salesman, died early Saturday morning, October 28, 2017, in his home.
Mr. Worrell was predeceased by his parents, Thomas E. Worrell, Sr. and Willie Mae Worrell; his loving wife, Judy Sloan Worrell; and a sister, Shirley Baker. He was a member of Community Church. Tommy was an Army veteran and had retired from Flowers Baking Company after 40 plus years. He looked forward to his weekly lunch dates with his buddies, affectionately known as the Dough Boys.
Survivors include two sons, Wesley Worrell of Chesapeake, and Bobby Worrell and his wife, Christie, of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Justin Worrell, Zakk Worrell, Tanner Worrell and Clay Worrell; two great-grandchildren; two sisters in law; seven nieces and a host of great nieces and nephews. He had a special bond with his sister-in-law, Geraldine Tatum and his niece, Brandy Coles.
A graveside service will be held at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk, Virginia on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, on Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m.

I met Tommy when I worked graveyard shift at a 711 in the early 90s. I always looked forward to him making his delivery. He had plenty of jokes. RIP to a good brother

I am so sorry to hear of Tommy's passing & share condolences with his family. He was my first cousin, we grew up together like brothers. I worked with him at Nolde's Bakery. Since I left Portsmouth, lost contact with him. He was a wonderful person and will surely be missed.

To the families and friends of Thomas E. Worrell Jr. I do not know the families personally but we all lose love ones in death. I just want to send my deepest condolences to the families. May God give all of you comfort and peace at this difficult time. Please allow God to strengthen you in your grief. Just rely on God fully.
Virginia will always be my home but now I live in Harrisburg Pa.
