Arthur Baurer Obituary
PRINCEVILLE – Arthur E. Baurer, 87, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 9:41 a.m. at Methodist UnityPoint Hospital in Peoria, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born December 15, 1930 in Edelstein to the late John and Louise Miller Baurer, he married Joy Bittner October 9, 1955 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Roanoke.
Art is survived by his wife of 62 years; three children, Bradley Jay (Cheryl) of Roanoke, Clark Thomas (Irica) of Chicago and Deonne Marie (Philip) Snare of Vienna, Virginia; seven grandchildren: Brooke (Andy) Feucht, Brock (Jen) Baurer, Amelia and Simon Baurer, Victoria, Garrett and Katherine Snare and six great grandchildren: Annika, Alexa, Eliana and Drew Feucht and Audrey and William Baurer. One sister, Helen Hoffman, also survives.Art served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Caterpillar after 44 years but was called back to direct tours for a number of years. He acted as an EMT for 25 years for Akron-Princeville Ambulance in Princeville. Art was a member and minister in the Apostolic Christian Church in Princeville. He loved God, his family, his church and served with diligence and devotion. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, John, Edwin and Willis, and two sisters, Evelyn Herrmann and Dorothy Walder and infants, Verla and Harold.
His funeral will be Monday, June 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Princeville Apostolic Christian Church. Ministers of the church will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Haskell-Hott Funeral Homes in Princeville from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. An additional visitation will be the morning of the funeral from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Princeville Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Akron-Princeville Ambulance, Methodist Hospice or Apostolic Christian Skylines. Online condolences may be made to Art's family on his tribute wall at www.haskellhott.com.

I remember one time I was visiting with Mr. Baurer, and he told me someone is older and also younger then you.
Mr. Baurer was an encouraging person.
