As my own father, my dad was like my best friend to me. My dad was a great chef, and a good person at heart. I wish I could've been able to have more time with him.

Chef Jeff was an AMAZING chef and even better human being. Taught me a lot about the business of restaurants when I worked for him. When I moved away he signed a Charlie Trotter cookbook saying "Your next job better be a chef" I never was able to tell him but I made it! He was a mentor, inspiration, motivator and friend. May your family have all the blessings they need to get through this time. With much love and prayers. Roger "Pooter" Decker

Jeff and I were best friends for most of our young lives and grew up together learning so many of life's lessons together, usually the hard way, but fortunately nothing too serious.I am so deeply saddened by his loss, but happy to have so many great memories. Though life's many twists and turns may take us down different paths, and we both took our different route, I was glad that we were able to connect once again. I'm so happy to read the comments from the people who's lives that he has made better merely by being himself. He really was one of the good ones. I'll miss you my friend.

Jeff was an avid student of mine in the art of reloading. Intent, intelligent and appreciative of any and all advice and hints. He would come in the shop and show me targets he'd shot. He was particularly proud of passing that on to his son. I was saddened to see the notice of his too early passing.

Our Sympathy to the family of Jeff. We had the pleasure of meeting Jeff through motorcycles. He carved a bike out of ice to thank my husband at Reiman's Harley-Davidson and we developed a friendship and huge respect for this man. We also hired him last year to carve a block of ice and create a masterpiece for the 2013 Kewanee Walldog Event. He will be greatly missed for his talents and good soul. God be with his family at this tragic time. Dennie & Dianne Packee (Reiman's Harley-Davidson, Kewanee, Illinois)
