CREVE COEUR - Jerry D. Sullins, 50, of Creve Coeur died at 2:34 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born on June 3, 1956, in Peoria, Ill., to Jerry A. and Hazel J. Halfacre Sullins, he married Marnie K. Kirtley on Feb. 9, 2001, in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Nicole (Michael) Chenoweth of East Peoria; his parents, Jerry A. and Hazel Sullins of Bartonville; two grandchildren, Kaeli and Ian; his beloved dog, Peanut; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Jerry worked as an M.R.O. buyer for CNH Global, formerly DMI, in Goodfield, Ill., and he had also managed V.O.P.'s in Peoria and Alexander's Steakhouse in Springfield.
He attended Bethany Baptist Church in Peoria.
Jerry enjoyed drag racing, collecting and watching NASCAR, and going to Bradley basketball games with his dad. He also was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He loved his family and friends and was devoted to them. He also enjoyed spending time with them and helping others.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. The Rev. Dr. Ritch Boerckel will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for his grandchildren.
