Jesus Aguirre Obituary

PEORIA - Jesus Garcia Aguirre, 62, of Peoria passed away at 4:11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at his residence.

He was born on Dec. 25, 1947, in La Barca Jalisco, Mexico, to Damien and Ana Maria Aguirre Garcia. He married Alicia Garcia on Sept. 2, 1972, in Brisenas Michocan, Mexico. She survives.

He also is survived by two daughters, Ana (Chris) Carroll of Peoria and Veronica (Jim) Sims of Bartonville; two sons, Ted Garcia and Omar (April Gyorkos) Garcia, both of Peoria; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Maria Avina of Mexico, Josephina (Jesus) Hernandez and Mati (Roberto) VillaloBos, both of California; and one brother, Jose Luis Garcia of Mexico.

Jesus was a manager of Butternut Bakery in Peoria.

He attended St. Mary's Cathedral.

He enjoyed boating on the Illinois River and took pride in his home and auto repair skills.

He was very proud when he became a U.S. citizen on April 21, 1995.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Attilio Morelli officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the Mass at the cathedral. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton, Ill. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.

Ronnie, I am so sorry for your loss, I understand exactly how you are feeling, I lost my mom around Thanksgiving 5 years ago, please call me anytime and we can talk or cry.. my deepest sympathy to your whole family..
