HANNA CITY - Larry G. Winters, 77, of Hanna City, IL, formerly of Plymouth, IL, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
He was born on January 8, 1941, near Plymouth, IL, to Byron G. and Edith M. Douglas Winters. He married Linda Payne on June 13, 1958, in Augusta, IL. She survives.
Larry was a graduate of Plymouth High School. He was employed for 30 years with Caterpillar in Peoria, IL, retiring in 1999, and was later employed by Earl Raymond Cabinet Shop in Hanna City.
Larry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed collecting and working on antique hit and miss engines.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; a son, Lonne Winters of Trivoli, IL; a daughter, Lorri (Robin) Eveland of Trivoli, IL; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda (Eldon) McKinley of Carthage, IL; a brother, Jerry (Margaret) Winters of Colchester, IL; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Moore of Carthage, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pat Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Plymouth, IL, with the Rev. Jerry Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Scott's Cemetery, near Plymouth. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Scott's Cemetery or the First Baptist Church of Plymouth.
