He was born Aug. 1, 1949, in Galesburg, the son of Clyde M. and Irma I. (Hinderliter) Lind. He married Teresa Perez on June 17, 1979, in Monmouth, Ill. She survives, as do three daughters, Audra (Ryan) Holmes of Forrest Park, Ill., Stacey (Mike) Flynn of Aurora, Ill., and Jackie Lind of Peoria; a son, Brent (Hannah) Lind of Galva; his sister, Sandra (Philip) Theobald of Peoria; and five grandsons, Tobias "Toby" Lind, Jameson Bainbridge, Evan Flynn, Aaron Holmes and Colin Flynn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mike graduated from Galva High School and went on to obtain a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. He worked in the health-care business and most recently as a consultant.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Galva, where he taught Sunday school, was on the council and served as the church clerk.

Mike was a man of faith and a jokester who never met a stranger. He loved the Galva community and what it had to offer. His enjoyments included boating, cooking and grilling, gardening, swimming, cars, clock trains, ham radios, animals, guns, hunting in his earlier years and listening to '70s music. He was most proud of his family and especially enjoyed spending time with them.

Mike was my Best Friend in 7th and 8th grade. His family was so gracious in allowing my younger brother and I to come and play at their house. Mike was gregarious, and enjoyed contacting his Ham Radio friends. "Jokester" is the perfect adjective for Mike. We had so much Fun together, and Laughed continuously. I'm so happy that Mike had such a Full and Happy Life.
