WHEELERSBURG— Loren R. Purdom, 78, with to be with his Lord peacefully, on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at SOMC Hospice Center with his wife and daughter by his bedside.
Born on December 9, 1945, in Frankfort, he was a well-known surveyor in Scioto County.
A dedicated member of Berean Baptist Church, he served as a deacon, trustee, missionary treasurer and A.W.A.N.A. leader.
Loren served in the U.S. Army as a medic helping others.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Paula Miller Purdom, whom he married on July 3, 1969. He flirted with his future wife who was employed at the Dari Queen, always ordering a chocolate malt. Also surviving are a daughter, Tammy Purdom of Wheelersburg and a sister, Marsha (D.J.) Graham of Circleville.
A Celebration of Loren's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 18th, at Berean Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Mann officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park with military honors by the James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion.
The family will receive guests at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE FROM 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday and at the church after 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
Memorial gifts may be made to Wounded Warrior, St. Jude's, or the missionary fund at Berean.
The American flags, along with the U.S. Army flag, will fly on the avenue in honor of our dedicated veteran, Loren Purdom.

I met Loren back in the 90's because I was really good friends with his daughter Tammy. Loren and his wife invited me into their home like I was their daughter as well. Gonna miss him so much.
