My deepest condolences to his immediate family and friends. I regret not getting to know Alton as well as so many mutual friends and relations did. What I do know is that Alton was a man held in very very high regard by a lot of people in and around Gary. My few times interacting with him I witnessed why he garnered such respect. I'm sure he will be sorely missed. May God bless him and may Rest in Peace.

I remember Officer Brumfield going all the back to my days as a student at Horace Mann H.S. He had such an impact on many of our lives. Kept us in check but always provided guidance and support. When I became a State Trooper he gave me exceptional advise on the law enforcement profession. He left his mark on many of us and he served his community well.
Officer Brumfield you've were an exceptional Man and faithful servant. Thank you as I pray for your family. Rest in Peace Sir.

We are sending prayers of comfort to the entire family, friends, and all who experienced Alton´s kindness.
He will always be remembered as a great man and I personally give him the highest respect for serving at Horace Mann as Officer Brumfield! We had the best security - Percy, Drake, Houston, and Brumfield was at the top of the list.
Later in life, we would all see Brumfield and his beautiful wife at the Genesis Center on Wednesday nights.
