Sister Evans was such an admired lady; admired for her spirit, her beauty, especially that silver gray hair, and a spoken voice as sweet as an angel. She was a pillar that will be missed.

During this time of sorrow and challenge, please accept our sincere prayers that God will continue to give peace and comfort to the entire Evans and Sandlin families. It was my blessing for 13 years to have had Sister Betty Evans assisting me as my faithful Administrative Assistant as I served as the Pastor and Teacher of Van Buren Missionary Baptist Church and in other national denominational responsibilities. Sister Evans made me and my service-leadership better because of her Christian character, competence, commitment and pride. Along with her embrace of detail and excellence, Betty Evans was the personification of grace and charm and the superlative degree of femininity. She made everyone proud to work with her and to know her as a genuine, no-nonsense servant of our Lord and Christ. Sister Betty has now entered the long sleep as rest from her labors until God himself raises her to everlasting life and joy of being in the presence of God and all Saints of the Ages. Her works will indeed be missed but hopefully never forgotten.
