Constance Russell Obituary
Constance was engendered on April 23, 1938 to Cleveland & Alberta Lomax in Durant, Mississippi. Bunchie relocated to Gary, In at an early age and graduated from Froebel High School in 1956. Soon after graduating high school, she met, fell in love, and married the "match to her flame", Willie Floyd "Dick"/"Dickie" Russell on December 30, 1957. To this union, 5 children were born. Constance worked various jobs which included Knights Inn, Rockwell Mill International, and finally retiring in 2013 as a school bus attendant at Laidlaw Bus Company. She loved, loved to clean up her house. You could literally wear a white pair of socks in her house for a week and they'd still be clean white. (LOL)...Dirt was her #1 enemy and pet peeve. She also loved to cook and everyone especially requested her dressing and potato salad.
Constance is preceded in death by her parents, her husband~Willie "Dick" Russell, her son~Darrell Russell, her grandson~Darnell Russell, brother~Cleveland Lomax, and sisters~Sarah McClellan, Margaret Lomax, and Virdell Barron.
She leaves to forever cherish her love and memories, 2 daughters ~Carmen Russell & Tracey Russell-Youngblood, 2 sons ~ Lawrence and Marlon Russell, 1 sister ~Clara Johnson.
9 grandchildren ~ Bianca, Chrishawnda, Ta'Niya, Taylor, Marlon, Marquis, Lawrence, LaDarrell, & Albanee. 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Also a special thank you to her dedicated & compassionate caregiver Inita Harris.
She will be missed immensely, loved always, and never forgotten.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 10am-2pm with services immediately following at 2pm at Smith, Bizzell & Warner Funeral Home 4209 Grant Street, Gary, Indiana 46408. www.smithbizzellwarnerfuneralhome.com
