George Dumas Obituary

PAPA GEORGE EDWARD DUMAS Gary, Indiana Age 83, born August 30, 1925, passed away March 21, 2009 at Southlake Methodist Hospital. Born to the late Charlie Dudley and Rachel (Bowen) Dumas in Mayfield, Kentucky. He was honorably discharged from the Army, a veteran of World War II. He retired from Youngstown Steel Mill with over 30 years of service. The founder of Dumas Wrecking Company. Preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 4 brothers. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 46 years, Rozola Dumas; daughter, Michelle Kyle; son-in-law, Kenneth L. Kyle; 3 granddaughters, Kenita, Kathryn, Kennedi Kyle, all of South Bend, IN; special goddaughter, Felicia Evans of Dallas, Texas; many goddaughter and sons; 2 brothers-in-law, Rev. Willie Dee Hunt of St. Louis, Missouri, L.T. Hunt of Shelbyville, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Izola Spence of St. Louis, Missouri; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins. All services Saturday, March 28, 2009. Visitation 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. at New Life Baptist Church, 5449 Harrison St., Merrillville, Indiana, Pastor Rev. Preston Ezell officiating. Interment Oakhill Cemetery. Powell-Coleman Funeral Home, Gary, IN.

Mama Dumas,
I am so sorry for your lost I wish I could be there for you Michelle,and the kids but I pray that God gives you and your family strenght during this time. I love you Mama Rose and I miss you. PaPa Dumas was a good man and he will be missed ! God bless you !
