She is survived by her loving sons: Joey and Jay Francis, two daughters, Chorlana (Rodrey) Francis, and L'Sonya Francis along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. Viewing is Friday, December 2, 2022, from 12:00-8:00 p.m., with family hours from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. at the Guy & Allen Chapel 2959 West 11th Ave, Gary, IN. Memorial services Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 1401 W. 20th Ave. Gary, IN

My deepest condolences to the family. There are no words that can heal such a great loss, but I pray God wraps you in his arms of comfort.
Aunt Velma had a sprightly spirit and Whenever I saw her she would pepper me with doses of truth and wisdom wrapped in humor and a beautiful smile. The things she imparted stuck with me and I have found them to be helpful to me as an adult. I find myself often sharing with others the anecdotes she gave me. The lasting good impact she had on others is the sign of a life well lived.
May good memories bring comfort in the days ahead; and may Aunt Velma´s light shine through each one she has touched.

Aunt Velma was a beautiful person with a pristine spirit. She was the epitome of love.
She was warm, friendly, compassionate and a mother of many, she served as a mother to her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and anyone she'd meet.
Aunt Velma will truly be missed,
She was a beautician at heart. I'll always remember when I was a child she would say to me Miss Prissy let me do your hair. As she pressed my hair she would say, "Miss Prissy your hair is soft as doctors cotton" I'll always remember my sweet Aunt Velma. Your niece.

Aunt Velma was an amazing aunt, the one that was always there no matter what. I have so many fond memories and she will be missed beyond measure. Aunt Velma, words will never be able to express how much you mean to me. The joy that you had and the love that you poured into me will always be remembered!
