Dennis W. Scott

Dennis W. Scott, age 75, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. He was born on January 5, 1938, in Beloit, the son of the late Gerald and Dorothea (Ellis) Scott. Dennis moved to Appleton in 1948, and has resided in the Fox Valley his entire life. He graduated from Appleton West High School and from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, with a B.S. Degree in Economics. His career began with being one of the original stockholders of J.J. Keller and Associates. Dennis then spent 18 years as a Controller with The McClone Agency. After leaving there, he was self-employed in insurance and real estate, and was still active until the time of his death.

As a young man, Dennis enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his true love was selling and buying books on eBay. He had a passion for travel, having visited most of the National Parks in the USA, and several in Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

He met his wife, Cherie in 1979; they married in 1986, and have shared 34 wonderful years together. In addition to Cherie, he is survived by his son: Chris (Kelly) Scott of Neenah; daughters: Tracy Bos of Appleton, and Rhonda (Pat) McDonough of DePere; grandchildren: Mitchell and Alexander Scott; Olivia and Desirea Bos; Owen, Kegan, and Maggie McDonough; and his sister, Dorothy Muggenthaler.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, and many close friends, including his life-long friend, Frank Pierri.

A private family memorial service will be held at the Wichmann Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel Thews will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
