Evangeline Voss Obituary
New London - Evangeline M. Voss, age 95, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Evangeline was born on May 16, 1923 in New London daughter of the late Louis and Alice (Wendt) Soffa. She was united in marriage to Evan Voss in 1968. Evangeline was a 1940 graduate of New London and went on to work for Edison Furniture (Simmons) until her retirement. She enjoyed being up north, especially fishing on the pontoon boat. She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London.
Evangeline is survived by her sister Jo A. Nieland; nieces, Jean Schneider, Jennifer Nieland and Doreen Delikowski; nephew Jim Schneider; and special family friend, Kevin Michell. She is further survived by Judy Meyer (fiancé, Larry Boneck) and James (Lynette) Voss.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Evan; sisters Joyce Engels and Dorothy Schneider and a brother Eugene Soffa.
Funeral services for Evangeline will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be held in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Joseph Residence in New London for the compassionate care they gave to Evangeline during her stay.
