CORINTH - Mitchell B. Allen, Sr., 70, of Angel Road, in Corinth, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday evening, October 10, 2023, at Saratoga Hospital.
Born on March 13, 1953. He was the son of the late Cleo and Edith Allen. He was a lifelong resident of Saratoga County.
Mitch worked for Saratoga County Highway Department for 42 years beginning at the age of 16 as a laborer and retiring in 2008 as the Foreman of the North Garage in Hadley.
His family meant the world to him. He took great joy in spending time with them. He enjoyed rides around to see deer, hunting, fishing, and family picnics. He would always say "Keep your eye to the sky".
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 46 years, Mary Ellen (Gallagher) Allen; siblings:
Wayne and Randy Allen.
Survivors include his children: Wayne (Kimberly) Allen of Edinburg, Scott (Mary) Allen of
Warrensburg, Sarah Zlotnick of Altamont, Mitchell (Tammy) Allen, Jr. of Broadalbin, Holly
(Isaac) Moyer of Corinth, and Amy Jane Epting of Ballston Spa; siblings: Marlene (Elvin) Allen, Judy (Steve) Kathan, Sharon (Jim) Bovee, Dan (Kathy) Allen, Donna (Larry) Perry, and Joy (Ray) Brown; 16 beloved grandchildren: three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He has a very large loving family.
Honoring Mitch's wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral services. There will be a gathering to celebrate his life on October 21, 2023 from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Gateway Church on Hamilton Ave. in Corinth.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., Lake Luzerne.

At the Restaurant when I was cleaning up, he came in and looked up and he was grinning from ear to ear while i was singing to a country tune. This is one person I think alot of.
