Richard Lapan Obituary
FORT ANN -- Richard Warren Lapan of Fort Ann, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2006, at Glens Falls Hospital after a brief illness. He was 86 years old.
He was born in Richmond, Vt., May 18, 1920, and was the son of the late Leo and Myrtle Lapan.
Richard lived in the South Burlington, Vt., area until moving to New York in 1952. For most of his life he was a dairy farmer before retiring in 1976.
He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Fort Ann.
Richard was predeceased by his loving wife, Marjorie (Hill) in 2002, sisters, Alberta Davis and Addie Aldrich, and a brother, Donald Lapan.
He is survived by two daughters, Sally A. Bietka and Nancy J. (Ronald) Kokosa, both of Schenectady; two sons, R. Paul (Barb) Lapan of Fort Ann, and Daniel (Laurie) Lapan of Columbia Falls, Mont.; his seven loving grandchildren: Michelle (Jeff) Hoag, Stacey Tasselmyer of Schenectady, Neil (Kim) Tasselmyer of Troy, Melissa Kokosa and her fiancé, Ross, of Latham, Kevin Kokosa and his fianceé, Susan, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Gregory (Lisa) Lapan of Salem, Monica (Brian) Pollack of Hartford and Marcia (Corey) Goodrich of Fort Ann; great-grandchildren: Emily Lapan and Justin Tasselmyer and several step-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a special companion/sister-in-law, Arlene Lapan and a brother, Kenneth (Mary) Lapan of Florida.
At Richard's request there will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at St. John Vianney Church in South Burlington, Vt.
The Rite of Committal will be in the family plot at Ressurection Park Cemetery in South Burlington, Vt.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mason Funeral Home, 18 George St., Fort Ann.
