Charles Haight Obituary
PLEASANT VALLEY - Charles E. Haight, 77 of Pleasant Valley, died at his residence on Friday, December 13, 2013.
Born in Poughkeepsie on September 5, 1936, he was the son of the late Clayton and Gladys Bullis Haight. Charlie served his country with the U.S. Army from 1958 - 1961. On May 20, 1960 in Munich, Germany Charlie married Jutta Klaus. Mrs. Haight predeceased him on February 15, 2004.
Mr. Haight was the proprietor of Clayton Haight's Garage in Pleasant Valley from 1993-2003 and previously worked with his father at the garage.
Charlie was a life member of Pleasant Valley Fire Co., a member of Pleasant Valley American Legion and Pleasant Valley Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and going on trips.
Charlie is survived by his sister Edith M. Aspbury of Mountaintop,Pa.; and his niece, Anne M. Deem and her husband Kenneth and their children, Sarah, Kelsey and Ryan Deem of Mountaintop,Pa. Also surviving are Jenny Aspbury, wife of his late nephew Alan Aspbury and her children Michael and Daniel of Matthews,NC; and brother in law and wife, Walter and Carol,Klaus of Fl.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 19 from 4-7 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 20 at 11 am from the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie with military honors.

I had a great deal of respect for Charlie. He always had great words of wisdom and advice at our American Legion Post 739 meetings. I will miss him deeply.
