I am so sorry to learn (months after the fact) that Gerry has passed from this world. I cherish the memory of weekly walks we took for years at Hurd Park or along roads of East Haddam before my husband and I moved to Virginia. We would walk slowly, keeping up a never-lagging conversation about the problems of the world, our families, our friends, politics, the most recent show at the Hartford Stage, a newspaper clipping, or the flowers we encountered along our way. Gerry would share his thoughts and his incredibly broad knowledge in the gentlest and humblest of ways--all of it seasoned by his irrepressible sense of humor.

Great respect for Gerry. Running around with Tycho as a kid, Gerry always pointed out interesting facts about nature, space, history and local lore. Hiking to Split Rock or Gray Hill, Gerry made it lots of fun. My condolences to Tycho and Celeste as my sister, mother and I grieve the loss of my Dad who passed in August.
